Big Rewind Updates Coming

Days are still getting shorter. Holidays fast approaching. Feels like you just want to snuggle up with … a basketball?

Heck yes. And we got your back!

App Update Coming Soon!

Despite the cold weather, this team doesn’t stop hooping-and-coding. We’ve been working since the start of Season 7 on new features, new challenges and lots of polish. It’s almost like you can hear the squeaky basketball shoes as we’re running up and down the halls, getting ready for release. This is one of the biggest mid-season updates we’ve done!

Here’s what you can expect from the app update, coming next week.

New to Rewind: Spotlights

Rewind challenges you to step into the shoes of your favorite athletes and teams. Each day, you’re recreating or re-writing history from games the night before. Spotlights puts a … wait for it … spotlight on specific Rewind challenges.

Spotlights are short, timed events. When a Spotlight is active for a Top Play, it triggers a special event for all players. When you successfully complete the Spotlight Top Play, the Rewind points you earn count toward Spotlight community goals. As the entire NBA 2K Mobile community completes challenges and hits the milestones, the Spotlight rewards multiplier grows and grows, allowing everyone to earn more and more Rewind points from the Spotlight-ed challenge. Your trip up the Leaderboard gets supercharged with the help of everyone in the community.

You’ll need to act fast and complete the Spotlight challenge before the clock runs out! Otherwise, you’ll get left behind.

New Top Play Types

Rewind challenges are based on real-life events – sometimes, you’re Wemby filling up the stat sheet, while at other times, you’re Steph, sinking shots from the logo.

With this update, Top Plays can now include:

  • Possession-locked gameplay, where you’ll control both teams’ offenses.

  • “Barn Burner” type games, where the challenge is simple – score as many points as possible. But you have to play as both teams and keep it close! In this mode, DPOYs need not apply.

  • “Three-pointers combined” challenges, where the task is that both teams must sink a certain amount of three-pointers. This is where great shooters are extra valuable!

  • “Points combined” challenges, where both teams must combine for a set number of points. There’s plenty of wrinkles, though, such as keeping turnovers to a minimum. Now you need the best point guards and passers you can collect!

Top Plays Rewards Now Include Coins

By default, Top Plays reward coins for completion, and Top Plays will give milestone rewards for completing plays 5-7 and 1-4. Looking ahead, there will be special days with even more milestone rewards.

Expanded Rewind Rosters

Now we’ll have (one of) the answers to the question: “Hey, where’s Player So-and-So?”

We have expanded the Rewind rosters for each team. This means you’ll see Top Plays focused on a wider variety of players than before. Steph, LeBron, Giannis and Luka are all superstars, but how about Zach Edey, Naz Reid and Malik Monk? More and more players will start popping up in Rewind.

Rewind Cards

Everything Else!

Style Cards will boost your team’s attributes in Rewind.

If a user has a (Rare or above) Style Card for a team, that user's Rewind team will get a +1 buff to the attributes specific to the Style. Champion (max level) Style Cards earn a +2 attribute buff.

Courtside Points can now be earned by playing Rewind.

Now, when you play Rewind (both Top Plays and Replays), you’ll also add to your Courtside Points, which gives players additional paths to earn that month’s biggest Courtside Pass rewards.

Polish, polish, polish

Every release includes bug fixes and odds-and-ends, and with this update, you’ll see:

  • Adjusted tuning for player AI in Rewind modes.

  • New opportunities within the game to pick up Rewind-focused Draft packs, and team-focused Style cards, right when you might want them.

  • A Rewind-focused tab in the game’s store, along with additional offers to beef up your favorite teams accessible from Replays and Top Play screens.

  • Visual polish, especially to the Draft Board.

  • SMACK! That jump ball bug has seen its last day. Same for the visual bug in events and Rewind where your points and position aren’t reflecting on the leaderboard. The MyCards page will also accurately reflect how many cards you own.

Game includes optional in-game purchases and paid random items.
